I lost 6.6 pounds in the past 2 weeks!! That's a total of 12.2 in 4 weeks. Very excited!!

Well - I'm nervous to weigh in tomorrow. I've had a crazy two weeks. I haven't been as diligent about counting my points. I think I've lost a couple pounds since I weighed in 2 weeks ago. I just finished my period and feel like I've been starving to death and therefore eating more. I hate it! But, although I haven't been purposely exercising...I've been wearing my pedometer and with the tea party last weekend...I have been at the church and had between 15,000 - 23,000 steps every day. Today mom came up and helped me clean and I ended up with about 13 or 14k. But I was so tired that I was a huge slacker and didn't want to cook for the entire family...so we ordered pizza. I'm hoping to go tomorrow and then be motivated again. I really need some dinner ideas for the whole family. Lunchs are fine because it's just me. Dinners are hard cooking for everyone.

Fresh Start

Well, it is almost 5:30 am and I am up to go walk. I have had such a hard time getting back on track and staying motivated the last month. I have maintained my weight and not gained, so it could be a lot worse. I had another shape scan done last Thursday at Curves. This is a machine that measures your resting metabolic rate, lean body mass, body fat, and tells you exactly how many calories you should be eating to lose. Since I had lost some, I knew the number of calories I needed had probably decreased. It had. Seeing the numbers helped to get me motivated to keep going. I also weighed and took my measurements. Jack's first birthday is in two months and I have a college class reunion in a couple months. I really want to lose more before those two events. So today is the day! I'm getting started again!

Susan - Monday

Well, I got another 5 point sticker Saturday. I've lost 10.8 pounds! Last week I lost 3.6 - I have no idea how. I'm really excited - I think it's true that you have to go to the meetings - it really pushes me to stick to the plan and lose weight every week. I have an inital goal of 21 pounds, so I have about 11 to go.

Karen - Thursday

Went to weight watchers tonight. Lost 5.6 pounds. I was very excited. It is really encouraging going to the meetings. It was motivating for me to lose that much weight after I had done so bad for three days. It made me really realize how important it is to stick with it even when I screw up.

I go to weigh in tonight at WW. Never did go to the meeting in Burlington Thursday. We didn't even get into town until about 2 pm and three of the four meetings were already over. Fri, Sat and Sun I went completely off the diet. Well - pretty much I just ate what I wanted for meals. I didn't snack much, if at all. But I got right back on track on Monday. So I'm disappointed that I screwed up but was happy that I got right back on because usually I'd be mad at myself and then give up.

This week has gone well, although I almost caved last night because I wanted HyVee Chinese sooooo badly.

Susan - Monday

Went to my weight watchers meeting Saturday and had lost .8 pounds. 7.2 pounds total now. I know it's only been 3 weeks, but it sure feels like it's coming off very very slowly.
I had a bbq Saturday night and did very good. I bought Veggie burgers - worth 1 point - and it was actually pretty good. I got Village Hearth buns - worth 1 point and used a slice of cheese so my dinner was only 4 points. ANd with the tomato, pickle, onion, ketchup and mustard I was full from just that. I made a dessert to take and it was really good - 3 points a piece. I took a box of angle food cake mix, mixed in a large can of crushed pineapple, baked it and put fat free cool whip on top - then refrigerated. I don't usually like pineapple a WHOLE lot, but this was really good, and everyone loved it - even though most of them said they don't like pineapple either. Any way, I'm starting on my 4th week now. I'm still motivated, so that's good.

Susan - Thursday

Didn't do so great yesterday. I had to use some of my 35 points for the week. Had a teeny tiny piece of carrot cake and I figured 4 points for even that little piece. Went to the pancake breakfast - had one pancake, a couple bites of egg and 1 sausage. Turkey sandwich for lunch - used mustard instead of mayo. Didn't snack at all. I did have 1 1/2 cokes though. Had half a pumpkin bar with my dinner - again had sandwiches. Could have been a worse day because there was so much good food, but I stuck with the mostly healthy fruits.
I had an egg mcmuffin for breakfast - so I have to restrict myself the rest of the day. I'm definitely going to have to avoid McDonalds from now on. 7 points for that. I should have peeled the ham and cheese off of it. We are going to a BBQ Saturday night and I'm a little nervous because there will be so much good but unhealthy food. Would it be rude to show up with my own chicken breast -( they are cooking hot dogs and brats.) Had my boss today tell me his wife does weight watchers so he gave me some low point foods. Here they are
Hearthland bread - light italian 1 point for 2 slices
Blue Bunny lite swirl sticks - it's ice cream
Bryer's light
He said he makes his spaghetti sauce from scratch and it has 0 points - he's going to bring me the recipe. I'll share it when I get it.

Karen - Monday

Completed one full week. I did well keeping within my points. I exercised 4 days last week. I'd really like to get at least 5. I exercised today - Eliptical, 35 minutes, 4 miles, 400 calories.

Overall I feel like things are going well. So far it's been fairly simple to follow. I'm hoping that after several weeks the meal planning will be easier. Not that it's super hard...but sometimes when I'm hungry and want something quick...I can't think straight about what is a good choice.

I don't think the first week could have gone much better.

Karen - Sunday

Well I survived the weekend!! It went really well-especially today. Today we took the kids to the Discovery Center and I pushed the boys on a 2.5 - 3 mile walk. Jamie took the girls on a trail looking for a geocache. Then we went to Weed Park and went on another walk to a geocache. For lunch I just had one of the Curves granola bars for 1 point. Lunch was a picnic. I had a salad and ham and cheese sandwich (6 points). I was hot and tired from walking so that was plenty. That left 19 points for the day. I've only used 11 of those points - chicken breast (3), corn on the cob (1), baked potato and sour cream (6) and ww fudge bar (1). So I have 8 left...maybe I'll have a little treat :) I'm feeling super motivated still and excited about the program. I weigh myself on my own scale tomorrow...my official ww weigh in is next Thursday.
